My name is Chris Carver, I was born in 1974 and currently live in Raleigh, North Carolina. I'm a Web Designer/Front-end Developer/UI Designer/Graphic Artist (Jack-of-trades if you will). I know it's vague but I thank corporate america for throwing a wrench into what defines a job and it's title. I basically specialize in designing and building websites that focus not only on the beauty of interface design but also on usability and compliancy with the latest web standards.

I consider my personal life successful. But "who you are" is far more than the roles we play.
I have good intellectual ability - able to learn and integrate ideas and concepts - at times I have difficulty in applying much of what I learn in my own behavior.
I have a healthy body - good physical coordination, endurance, and energy. I like soccer, surfing, snowboarding and sports in general. I have a sense of value of my body and my health, pushing it to perform at high levels.
I have lots of energy, which sometimes allows for useful action, but I drain a lot of energy by "worrying" a lot. My brain is very active, but it often goes so fast that I just get carried away. This means I push my sense of urgency and intensity onto other people sometimes when they're not "in the same space."
I am able to verbalize and articulate thoughts and ideas in a way that others identify with and feel good about. I love to inspire other people to see possibilities in their lives that they haven't seen before, but I sometimes feel comforted by the awareness of others' problems because I am better at dealing with others' problems than with my own.
Much of the time I am concerned about others and place all kinds of expectations on myself to be responsive and available to others. Other times I feel just the other way and have a strong need to be alone. This can be confusing to those who care for me. I seem to overdo or under-do what would be a reasonable way of interacting.
At any rate, most of us have a general sense of "who we are," but much of the time that consists of identifying ourselves by our various "roles" (whether a husband/wife or mother/father) - or by our jobs (whether "butcher, designer or CEO").
I've found it interesting, challenging, rewarding, motivating, misleading, embarrassing, and sometimes frustrating trying to explain what I do (or the perceptions around it). Which is why I love what I do! My focus area(s) are simply too educate for the majority of the masses to get it. I realize that I'm doing something that's new (but yet so old), let me share with you:
I am a successful Web Marketer, Interactive Designer and BIG THINKER living in Raleigh, NC. I've dedicated the last 10 years of my life working in a field (web design / development) that is continually changing. Why...
During the work week I transform into a Web Designer / Web Developer in the Sales and eMarketing funnel at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. Where I use my innovated skills to create and perform a range of web-related products and tasks geared toward corporate initiatives. I hope to some day neutralize the corporate persona of what web professionals are. (Wish me luck!)
I enjoy playing frisbee with my dog “Chance”, soccer, running, weight lifting, and reading the occasional blog by web “gurus”. As well as reading design books and magazines.
I have a obsessed interest with surfing, snowboarding and other alternative sports which has fueled my creative juices for years. Constantly sketching, drawing and perfecting industry logos in my spare time from an early age. Marveling at the simplistic abstract symbols and wondering what they meant. It all boils down to one fact! I'm a slave to surfing, an ever indebted to the countless hours of satisfaction mother nature provides for me in and out of the water. (Thanks!)
On occasions I am available for freelance web design work. If you're looking for someone to help out or even if you just want someone to bounce ideas off of, feel free to drop me a line.
